Friday & Monday Together

I wasn't home much of Friday then got home really late so forgot to get a post up for our Friday praise and update.  Hopefully I'll do better this Friday...it takes me a while to get in a new routine.

So, how'd you do last week?  Get what you wanted accomplished?

And what are your plans for this week?  I've got to rearrange  a few things but I'll post my goals Monday for sure.

Also, I mentioned anthology markets in my comment on the previous post.  Which reminded me I posted four spec. fiction anthology markets on my "Troll Bridge" blog the other day.  Stop by and check them out.

I'll be posting another contest there tonight so if you write Inspirational, you might want to check it out.

  1. I didn't know you were still updating Troll Bridge. I wandered out there a few moments ago.

As for my goals, I definitely accomplished what I needed to do last week, just worked so hard I am feeling lazy this Monday.

That huge editing project is done, and this week I need to get out a newsletter, edit a children's book, finalize February tours, and hopefully get ready to write something to my WIP starting next week. I want to read through the last couple of chapters to get back into it.

  2. Go, Cheryl! More praise for finishing your editing project. You're definitely an inspiration. =)

Last week was fantastic for me, mostly because I finally figured out how to schedule writing into my busy schedule. It worked wonders! If I can keep this up every week I'll be putting about 20 hours towards my novel, and it's already paid off huge.

I've nearly finished with my Cosmology - brainstorming new ideas, filling 'holes' and typing it up. Now I have to continue working on my prehistory and revising another file document.

I also want to slowly update the history of the Gifted, brainstorm more into my secret society, and also start using my "Writing the Breakout Novel Workbook" by Donald Maass.

I definitely feel back in the game!

  3. Congratulations to you all!

I'm in my usual place of not accomplishing goals I set. In fact, I had to go back to last Monday's post to remember what I said I wanted to do. Nope. Didn't do a single one.

My goal for today was to write something - and I actually did. :-) I wrote a story that I will submit to The Verb's latest contest and also take with me to the first meeting I'll be attending of our local writer's club. I'll let you know how the later goes. I'm feeling leery of it.

    Last week was:
"Polish my non-fic article and it's submission letter

Get an idea for a story for my next Long Ridge lesson. (Opening and magazine choice for submission due to instructor by Jan. 20th)

Hopefully write another chapter for the fan-fiction story that is in progress."

    For this week

I have to at least do the second on last week's list as I have to have that lesson turned in by the date mentioned. So that will carry over.

I need to polish the story I wrote today so it's good enough to send to The Verb.

I really need to get a story written for the fanfic challenge.

I just copied these to my desktop, so maybe I won't forget them this time.

  4. Sandra...

I got a delivery from the plot bunnies this morning for The Verb contest too. I've got most of it figured out. Hopefully I'll be able to get it ready before Friday.

    Chrissy...

I have the workbook also. LOVE IT!!! I actually took and put all the questions in a word doc and printed it out. Then added a cover page with the name of the novel I'm working on and took it to an office supply store and had it spiral bound for a couple bucks.

That way, I don't mess up the workbook and I have one for each novel that I can make notes in.

    Cheryl...

Yeah, I started Under the Troll Bridge for a more general info type blog. This is the last one I plan to start though. It's a little bit of everything.
