#bloggerfail

Sigh...

I knew I'd be seriously busy and would be spending more time away from the puter so set up posts automatically.  For some reason, they didn't post.  Sigh.

So, all those witty posts that I took the time to write will languish away.

But...maybe I'll figure it out one day soon.

How did y'all do?  Did you finish?  Did you get farther than you thought?  Will you give it another shot next year?  What did you like about NaNo, what did you dislike?

And, while I'm here, Happy Holidays y'all!!!

  1. I did poorly.
(will I turn to dust like the guy in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"?)

I didn't get anywhere near to how far I thought I would get.

I would like to give NaNo a shot next year, but I need to have my research/background material a lot more prepared and ready to go.

I didn't do enough to say what I liked or disliked.

Happy Holidays to you too, Jean!

    Hugs,
    Sandra

  2. I was wondering why the blogging just stopped. Let me know what plans you have for the future of this blog because it's a great idea if people stick with it in the new year.

Sandra, I hope you don't mind me putting my big nose in, but try not to look at it that way. You got 4000 words done, so that's great! You didn't have those before you started. And I discovered the whole research aspect was a challenge the first time I participated in NaNo too, so live and learn. That's why I decided to tackle the project I did this year--I knew more about these characters and this time period than the other ideas I had.

As for me, I got 7000 during NaNo, and I have over 10,200 words if I count what I wrote for the writing exercises during a conference I attended. Some of it will have to be reworked now that I've written the beinning of the book, but that's still a fair amount of words.

The only thing I dislike about NaNo is that it is in November. I wish it were in March or some other month when I don't have so much going on. I knew it would be hard to win, but I'm glad I gave it a shot. I didn't put pressure on myself like I did the last time, so I will probably try again next year.

Congratulations to anyone who finished. I hope everyone will share their NaNo stories with us.

  3. Ack! Bummer about the posting malfunction, I hate it when things go all wonky.

I managed to get the 50K, but the story isn't finished yet, which is a good thing, I guess. :) Definitely be back next year, it's too much fun. It depended on the day on what I liked and disliked. They'd switch all the time. lol.

Sandra- You still tried. That's the great thing. You did more than you wold have, and more than a lot of people. That's nothing to be bummed about. Plus, there's always next year. ;)

And Happy Holidays to everyone as well. :D
